When seeking gluteal enhancement, our patients often elect to have the Brazilian Butt Lift procedure (buttock fat grafting) rather than gluteal implants for a few major reasons. Fat grafting typically provides:
- Very soft and natural results
- Results that often cannot be mimicked with implants available in the U.S.
- Utilizes the patient’s own tissues
- Reduced risk of complications such as infection, wound dehiscence (wound rupturing along the suture areas), or implant exposure
In addition, because a Brazilian Butt Lift harvests fat via liposuction, patients receive the added benefit of an improved body contour in the areas targeted for fat cell harvesting.
Unfortunately, not every individual makes a good candidate for the fat transfer necessitated by a Brazilian Butt Lift. Good candidates for fat transfers must already possess an adequate amount of body fat to produce a good, long-lasting result. Thinner patients may not have enough fat to transfer, and therefore are less likely to be good candidates for Brazilian Butt Lift surgery. For patients who are not candidates, our plastic surgeons in Las Vegas can discuss alternative treatments that can help them attain their goals.
If you would like to see if you are a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift, please contact our office today. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have, and can discuss your individual options for gluteal enhancement during a consultation. Also, stay tuned for the second part of our blog series on gluteal enhancement, which will talk about the specific technique we use and its importance to creating the best possible results.
