In addition to traditional facelift procedures, Drs. W. Tracy Hankins and Samuel Sohn perform mini facelifts to reduce risk, recovery time, and costs for their patients.
Las Vegas, NV – Dr. W. Tracy Hankins and Dr. Samuel Sohn are board-certified Las Vegas plastic surgeons who run their private practice with a focus on minimizing discomfort, maximizing safety, and delivering beautiful, long-lasting results. As part of this mission, Drs. Hankins and Sohn explain one of the ways in which they aim to achieve this: the mini facelift. Much like it sounds, a mini facelift is a “milder” version of a traditional facelift. They say their mini facelift and extended mini facelift techniques are minimally-invasive, and although the results are not as significant as a full facelift, they come close – often delivering very effective facial rejuvenation while reducing patient risk, recovery time, and cost.
While about 10% of the patients at Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery receive traditional facelifts, most patients opt for a mini facelift procedure instead, if it is determined the procedure can be beneficial for their unique needs. In a recent blog post, titled “Achieving Rejuvenation With a Facelift or Mini Facelift,” Drs. Hankins and Sohn highlight that, in comparison to a traditional facelift, the mini facelift and extended mini facelifts are often able to achieve results that are about 70% as effective. The plastic surgeons say, though the results of a mini facelift will be slightly less dramatic than the standard method, mini facelift patients can benefit from a significantly less invasive procedure. “There are many women and men who feel that a facelift is too drastic or too much of an operation for them to undergo. Only by coming in for a face-to-face consultation, and discussing their wants and needs with a board-certified plastic surgeon, can patients understand what the procedure is like and what the recovery involves. Mini lifts [are] typically very well tolerated by patients, with relatively rapid recoveries.”
All of Drs. Hankins’ and Sohn’s prospective facelift patients receive a consultation with the operating surgeon to fully discuss the procedure, the risks involved, and the patient’s expectations in regard to the results. The initial consultation process also involves an evaluation of each patient’s unique facial characteristics so that Drs. Hankins and Sohn can anticipate the results that can be achieved by each procedure.
By utilizing the mini facelift technique as opposed to the traditional facelift, Drs. Hankins and Sohn say patients can benefit from:
● smaller surgical incisions
● less dissection of skin
● minimized recovery
● reduced post-operative discomfort
After surgery, Dr. Hankins and Dr. Sohn say their plastic surgery patients will be evaluated on a regular basis to ensure they receive the appropriate post-operative care and that the healing process is running smoothly. Mini facelift patients at Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery also receive specific instructions regarding each phase of the recovery period to ensure optimal results.
With the popularity of cosmetic enhancement and plastic surgery increasing across gender lines and age groups, Drs. Hankins and Sohn note that there are a variety of options that can help some patients achieve their facial rejuvenation goals without extensively invasive surgery and long recovery times. They say the mini facelift is one advanced technique that can do just that.
