Las Vegas, NV — At Hankins & Sohn Plastic Surgery Associates, board-certified plastic surgeons W. Tracy Hankins, MD and Samuel Sohn, MD will be hosting a special event to showcase Coolsculpting®, an effective procedure for non-surgical body contouring. The event is scheduled for Thursday, June 14, 2012 from 5:30-7:30 pm. Dr. Hankins says he is excited to speak with patients about the non-surgical liposuction alternative because it is extremely effective at improving body contour and removing excess fat resistant to exercise and diet.
Created by Zeltiq and approved by the FDA, Coolsculpting® has been clinically proven to reduce fat by 20-25% after a single treatment. Dr. Sohn says patients at their Las Vegas plastic surgery practice have seen similar lasting results, and adds that patients appreciate the fact that no needles, special diets, downtime, or surgery are required to achieve these results.
Dr. Hankins says comparing Coolsculpting® to the traditional liposuction procedure is difficult, because surgical procedures may result in a more dramatic transformation. However, for patients that may not be ready for a surgical procedure, or for those that simply want to eliminate stubborn fat, Coolsculpting® is an effective and safe treatment.
According to Dr. Hankins, the Coolsculpting® process takes about an hour per area treated, with minimal discomfort. The process involves cryolipolysis, or freezing fat, which breaks the fat cells down and allows the body to dispose of the waste naturally over a two to three month period. Dr. Sohn says results are typically noticeable within one to two months following the procedure, and that patients have been very satisfied with their results: “Coolsculpting is right for certain individuals, with isolated refractory fat pockets, who don’t want the downtime or discomfort associated with liposuction. This procedure fills a need for that patient who wants proven, lasting fat reduction results, without having to have surgery.”
During the June 14th event, the Las Vegas plastic surgeons will offer free consultations, live demonstrations, and raffle off a Coolsculpting® treatment for medically eligible patients. They will also conduct a clinical question-and-answer session and offer special pricing discounts for the liposuction alternative.
